Sea Salt Roasted Crickets

Finnish house crickets with sea salt. This is the easiest way of starting your journey into the edible insect food culture. They go great with all kinds of foods sprinkled on top to bring taste, razzle-dazzle, texture and awesome nutritional punch.

Ingredients

farmed housecricket, sea salt (1,4%). May contain traces of gluten.

Attention: Insects may cause allergic reactions for people with allergies of crayfishes, mollusks and/or exoskeletons

Example Recipe

1 egg
120ml milk
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
200g plain flour
100g caster sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
10g whole crickets

1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Grease muffin tin or use bun paper cases.

2. Beat egg with a fork. Then stir in milk and oil. Sift flour into a large bowl. Add sugar, baking powder and salt. Add egg mixture to flour and stir until flour is moistened.

3. Add the Northern Forest Whole Crickets and mix well.

4. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
