Soy & Ginger Roasted Crickets

Inspired by Southeast Asian insect food culture, these soy-ginger flavoured Finnish house crickets are particularly suited with noodles, woks, salads, curries, woks and soups and as a delicious snack obviously.

One of the great GRiiDY-farmers behind the crickets in this bag is Panu from Kurikka.

Ingredients

farmed housecricket, soy sauce, ginger. May contain traces of gluten.

Cricket Muffin

1 egg
120ml milk
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
200g plain flour
100g caster sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
10g whole crickets

1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Grease muffin tin or use bun paper cases.

2. Beat egg with a fork. Then stir in milk and oil. Sift flour into a large bowl. Add sugar, baking powder and salt. Add egg mixture to flour and stir until flour is moistened.

3. Add the Northern Forest Whole Crickets and mix well.

4. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
